    First release of felis-cast, the .fcast session-cast format for felis and the tools that produce and replay it. Built against felis v0.2.0.

    Format

    • Envelope "format": "felis-cast", "version": 1, frozen with narrow extension points: unknown header fields and meta keys are ignored, cast.* and x-<vendor>.* frames are skipped by readers that do not know them.
    • Frames group into units (attach burst, compose cycle, single) that share one timestamp; a player paints between units only.
    • meta.theme carries the recorder's base theme as a hint a player paints with when it was given no theme.

    Tools

    • felis cast record: attaches to a running daemon as a pull-paced window, records whole compose cycles, and writes the base theme from the felis config.
    • felis cast serve: a pseudo-daemon that replays a recording to any unmodified felis client, honouring pull pacing and answering resizes with the recording's size.
